About Governor’s House (Kapodistrias)

For a brief moment in 1828–29, Aegina was the capital of the newly independent Greek state, and the Governor’s House was the seat of its first head of state, Ioannis Kapodistrias. It is a reminder of the island’s place in modern Greek history, a short walk from the harbour.
