Fira
The busy heart of the island

About Fira
Fira is Santorini’s lively capital, with jewellers, cafés and bars hanging over the caldera and the volcanic islands far below. It is the transport hub, with the main bus station, and a cable car (or around 600 steps) links it with the old port where boats leave for the volcano. Good for nightlife and convenience; less peaceful than the villages further north.
