Parikia
Lively capital, real island town

About Parikia
Parikia is a working island capital as well as a holiday base, and that is its charm. Ferries come and go all day, the market street behind the harbour is full of bakeries, shops and little bars, and the Kastro quarter shows Venetian walls built from the marble blocks of an ancient temple. The Panagia Ekatontapiliani is one of the most important churches in Greece. In the evening, the bars along the west side of the bay face the sunset, and the town has a cheerful, lively buzz without the price tags of Mykonos.
