Ano Mera

Inland village·Ano Mera

The traditional side of Mykonos

About Ano Mera

Ano Mera is where you see that Mykonos is also a farming island. The square is lined with tavernas where local families eat on Sundays, and the 16th-century Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, with its carved wooden iconostasis, stands on one side. It makes a relaxed lunch stop on the way to the east-coast beaches of Kalafatis and Agia Anna.

Why it's on our list

  • Panagia Tourliani monastery
  • Village-square tavernas
  • Near the east-coast beaches

Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Ano Mera before you go.
