About Athinios port
Most ferries dock at Athinios, south of Fira, where a zigzag road climbs the cliff. Buses and taxis meet the boats, but queues can be long; pre-book a transfer and leave plenty of time to reach the port for departures, as traffic jams on the cliff road are common in summer.
