About Getting around Poros
Poros is small: a local bus runs from town along the coast towards Askeli and the monastery, water taxis and the little ferries cross to Galatas, and rental offices in town hire scooters, quads, bicycles and cars for the drive round Kalavria. Book ahead for summer weekends, check what the insurance covers and bring your licence; check whether yours needs an International Driving Permit. Scooters above 50 cc need a motorcycle licence, and helmets are compulsory.
