About Taxis, transfers & the cable car
Taxis are limited and queues at the port and airport can be long in summer, so book a transfer through your hotel. In Fira, the cable car runs down to the old port, where the volcano boats leave; the alternative is around 600 steps. Please do not ride the donkeys up and down the steps: walking or the cable car is kinder.
