About Car & scooter hire on Mykonos
With frequent buses and the south-coast water taxis, many visitors manage without a car on Mykonos. If you want one for the north and east coasts, Sixt and other international firms have desks at the airport and local companies deliver to the port and hotels; only local firms rent scooters and quads. Book early for July and August, check the insurance, and check whether your licence needs an International Driving Permit. Scooters above 50 cc need a motorcycle licence and helmets are compulsory. Parking around Chora is very hard.
