Car & scooter hire on Santorini
A car opens up the south
About Car & scooter hire on Santorini
A small car is the easiest way to reach the wineries, the southern beaches and the quieter villages. International firms have desks at the airport (Avis has a Santorini branch), and local companies such as Manos Rent deliver to the airport, port and hotels. Book ahead in July and August, check what the insurance covers, and bring your licence; check whether yours needs an International Driving Permit. Scooters above 50 cc need a motorcycle licence and helmets are compulsory. Parking in Fira and Oia is very limited, and roads are busy around sunset; we prefer a car to a quad on these steep, busy roads.
Why it's on our list
- Book ahead in summer
- Check your licence rules
- Parking in Oia is hard
Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Car & scooter hire on Santorini before you go.
